Pros

Product line managers, apps engineers

Cons

How much time do you have? Pay is dismal. Just look at job postings to see how little they pay. Benefits are decent, but they charge an arm and a leg for them. Worst part of company is upper management. Completely inept and arrogant. Run as my way or highway type place. Every company has problems, but they seem completely baffled on how to deal with them, almost like they don't believe they have any and they will magically go away. Also, selective enforcement of rules. One can have a violent outburst towards another employee, and simply get moved to a new job. Another can travel around just to collect travel points and vape, but provides no value. The unfortunate, (or many fortunate) get now guidance, feedback, or direction and are shown the door faster than the company can ship product.

Unfair workload

Pros

You will learn how to figure out on your own a linux kernel and corresponding hardware drivers.

Cons

Expect to not have any support or documentation as a firmware engineer. Everything was completed by extremely talented engineers that upper management so convientley ran off. Pay was 20% below market. Electrical engineers are treated like babies and all the real workload is on the fw engineers. Scheduling is terrible and upper management will ask engineerings opinion then cut the hours to complete recommended in half and expect it to just work. Honestly everyone but Mike in the Basler family is extremely ungrateful and dont have the faculties to understand the workload they put on their engineers.
