      Pros

      Usually can get high profile good projects. Company has good reputation. The design is generally quite nice. Have lots of talented people. Allows flexible working time and one day working from home.

      Cons

      Pigeon-holed into project delivery. Contribution and experience are not necessarily recognised. Experienced people may get put on easy role and juniors can be put on important lead role. In general male gets better pay, and design architect has better exposure and better chance to be promoted. No transparency in management. No clear path to move up and a little top heavy.

      Studio socials and friendship within the team. Mentorship and events.

      Cons

      Bates Smart is generally a good architectural firm to work for. However, there seems to be an issue with an unlicensed architect in a leadership position tarnishing its reputation, and unfortunately, the studio is tolerating this behavior. It's disappointing to see a reputable architectural firm like this allowing such behavior among its leaders. I hope the company takes action to address this issue; otherwise, negativity like this can spread like rotten tomatoes.
