Supportive colleagues overshadowed by poor management culture

Friendly and supportive colleagues at the operational/team level. Strong sense of camaraderie among frontline staff. Team members were willing to help each other and made difficult days more manageable. The people I worked alongside were the best part of the job.

Cons

Management lacked professionalism and treated staff disrespectfully. Culture felt like a "boys' club," with inconsistent treatment and limited inclusivity. Experienced bullying and poor management practices from my direct manager. Little support for employee development or career progression. Career growth opportunities were restricted, and internal progression felt blocked. Feedback and concerns were not handled constructively. Leadership did not foster a positive or supportive working environment. Decisions regarding promotions and development lacked transparency. Poor management culture contributed to low morale and high staff turnover

>Good place to work if you're lazy >Nice foot in the door of the industry >Some very talented people in the team I worked within and no doubt elsewhere in the business >Decent progression opportunities if the powers that be like you >Bauer Academy is nowhere near as good as some training providers / teaching institutions, but you can access qualifications without paying for them, which is pretty sweet

>Lazy, under-qualified workers are rewarded and uplifted >(Some) management on a power trip >Pay is atrocious, like really terrible. I left for a 40% pay rise doing effectively the same job elsewhere >Flat out refusal from 'higher-ups' to listen to ideas from those who aren't 'in the club' so to speak >Sweeping lay-offs - nothing says we value our staff like sacking a third of them... >More time spent doing pointless meetings than actually creating the paying product (content) >Corporate culture 🤮 >If your face doesn't fit, you'll be denied progression and pushed out, ultimately >Ultra leftwing landscape and all the fun-sucking, opinion-suppressing joy that comes with it - this is not the company for you if you like a bit of workplace banter
