Sexist environment, unfair pay

Pros

Being a part of WPP, the agency offers a broad range of tools and standard benefits including generous vacation time, 401K, health flex account, etc. For the most part, people are nice. Office location in Miami is dreamy, but hard to get to and typically makes for a long commute. This is a good place to get a year or so of experience if you are starting out your career.

Cons

Teams are overloaded with work, so the grind is real. You'd think they'd acknowledge this with more perks, a bonus system, or more frequent salary increases - but that would be too progressive for this agency! Salaries are kept low so that profit margins reported back to WPP are high and stock holders get their guaranteed income. Pay raises are unheard of...the best way to get a raise is to show them a counteroffer from another option and threaten to leave. High profit margins for WPP come at the expense of the personnel, and it's worse if you are a woman. Women at the agency make much less than men overall. HR does absolutely NOTHING for employees - they are simply puppets; the CEO is a micro-manager and nothing happens at the agency unless it has his blessing. Both are a couple of years from retirement and are just trying to keep things afloat so they can cash in on their pensions, while WPP stocks tumble. The politics of the environment are draining for middle and senior management and despite the 30+ years this agency has been around, there are no real processes/procedures. Also, the Miami office is an orphan child to Y&R NY, so if you have an option, choose NY over Miami. Culture and values are all talk....very hypocritical environment.

Pros

Good WPP benefits. Most people are nice. Beautiful view.

Cons

This is not a real advertising agency. If you have actual advertising experience DO NOT work for Bravo; you’ll be frustrated after the island view gets old. There’s no creative work, it’s basically about translations and Accounts run the business. They had a couple of good years (winning businesses, awards and recognition) when an actual Creative was leading. People care too much about looking busy rather than doing actual work. “Leadership” is nonexistent.
