Pros

BWB UK was a lovely company to work for , the funds raised for non-profits through each sale gave me a sense of pride. MD at the time I worked there was a lovely chap who I respected . Lots of opportunities for grafters. I was promoted within my first year, and in the beginning my ideas where listened too.

Cons

I left for a couple of reasons , mainly poor pay, a new manager who didn't take the time to understand my motivations and a move to carrying out a sales role on top of my own without being compensated.

Pros

Better World Books has great values. It's a relaxed place to work but work always gets done Customers are very important to the company. There are some really good people to work with. Overall it is a great place to work

Cons

Apart from discount on the books there aren't really any benefits, there is a Stakeholder Pension but the company don't contribute so no incentive to join up. Some of the senior managers have no people skills and have very little management experience which reflects in their management styles and abilities. Pay is not competitive.

Pros

Company has good values and everyone who works there really believe in their mission.

Cons

Working for the UK side of the business, there is a slight lean to an american business model which at times can make you feel insecure in your role. Staff at times were also treated a bit like school children, which is a bit unnecessary.
