Pros

Bombas is comprised of a dedicated group of dynamic people who lift each other up, compliment each other, work hard, aren't afraid to make mistakes, call themselves out if they happen, learn from them and move forward. Bombas' mission to support the homeless community is ingrained into every aspect of corporate life and everyone in every department has a strong & direct line to its service. Leadership is supportive of personal and professional growth like no company I've ever worked at.

Cons

As there is a current fast-growth stage happening, improving communications cross-functionally is an area where Bombas can improve. The organization can benefit from faster hiring and a more formalized, centralized source of information.

Pros

Bombas has historically been an amazing place to work, ranking consistently in the top 100 places to work. The benefits are great and they find ways to get everyone involved!

Cons

I had three different black managers leave Bombas because of gaslightlighting and microaggressions, and they dont have many black employees to begin with. This behavior is pretty common in the legacy employees who have been in Bombas for 7+ years. Bombas also changed a lot during the pandemic. Prior to that, the company was amazing but things slowly changed and the company left its start up roots to pursue more of a corporate ladder climbing culture. There are people in the ELT that really have no clue what they're doing, primarily on the brand/creative side. These people got the job due to clear nepotism (e.g. their qualifications include them going to summer camp with the founder in the northeast, not joking). I'd also be wary of the marketing team as they operate like an agency. Long hours, weekend meetings, and constantly changes to the spend forecast or campaign strategy. It's very exhausting.
