      Smoke and Mirrors Hiding Poor Leadership and Management

      Pros

      - Great place for drifters, recent college grads trying to find themselves, and those running away from something - Beautiful location - I recommend camping in Medicine Bow National Forest every opportunity you can to get away from the ranch - You will meet people you love and people you hate, great opportunity to practice restraint and patience -employee laundry machines available

      Cons

      - very little pay - tightly packed/shared housing is provided - employee meals are poorly managed, with no time in the day to go get your own food, mostly processed and poorly seasoned food - micromanaging HR - Quite literally 0 work/life balance

      Pros

      If you’re interested in doing a summer at a resort ranch or something similar, check out other surrounding guest ranches for employment before committing to BCR…it’s a lot of really good marketing to reel you in but once you’re employed there, the glitter goes away and you are worked to the bone. They make promises they cannot keep ( such as offering free time to employees to enjoy the natural surroundings which brought them there to begin with….) It is not a safe place to work, they rush training you and thus fail to fully train staff to take safety precautions during dangerous activities. Try

      Try exploring other places to work…… the ranch at rock creek in Montana, lost creek ranch in WY and in CO north fork ranch, as well as dozens of others. Just keep your options open!

      Poor Leadership

      Pros

      Beautiful Environment, fast paced work, room for growth within department, access to property and equipment.

      Cons

      Trying to stuff too many guests into a ranch that wasn't made for it, with little improvements to infrastructure. Staff consistently overworked and underpaid for their efforts. No tipping? C'mon... Housing is always a hassle and often moved around however is convenient for the company. Employee meals repetitive, unhealthy and not accommodating to those with dietary restrictions
