Pros
I've worked at Buildkite for several years, and it's been an overwhelmingly positive experience. During this time, I've enjoyed working with fantastic, smart people, on interesting projects, and have massively up-skilled, while being given the kinds of opportunities that I've never received elsewhere. The benefits are generous, and the company truly understands how a remote work culture should operate. The products Buildkite produces are excellent, and appreciated by the customers that use them. The product roadmap is solid, and I sincerely believe that the company has a bright future. All of my experiences with Buildkite leadership have been positive. There have been changes to the leadership team as the company has grown, which has caused contention in places but also brought improvements, benefits and growth. The negative reviews on Glassdoor do not reflect my own experience at Buildkite. This has been a great place to work.
Cons
It's fast-paced, busy, and demanding, and work can eat into your spare time if you let it. Fortunately, the company has a respect for people's spare time and doesn't encourage/expect you to over-work, but it can happen still.
