I have been working at Bulb full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Opportunity to make a real impact; always something new to learn

    Cons

Standard hours of 9-6 feel long, though there's no engineering culture of working after hours which is good.

I have been working at Bulb full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Bulb genuinely genuinely care about your mental health being looked after. When I first joined last January, I had my first 121 and was worried because I had never had one before! But then I learnt that checking in on your team regularly is normal and should be happening. Since then I've had regular 121s where my managers really do care if I'm ok, and how I'm finding the job. There is so much offered to us in terms of care, yes there are things like yoga & meditation but more serious help like therapy and access to vitality. Also, if you voice a problem to your manager they really do listen. My managers are invested in my development and have given me more and more projects to take on which makes me have faith in my own abilities. Everyone is lovely too, if I have to message someone I've never spoken to before they're friendly, approachable and always want to help. The People team do a great job at finding like minded individuals that are a good fit at Bulb, to make it a nice place to work. Finally, I rate that Bulb senior leaders try to be as transparent as they can be with the rest of the company so much so that all staff feel comfortable enough asking questions directly to them.

    Cons

I'd love to see our social budget (£30 a month each) come back but we're living through a pandemic where protecting ourselves as a company is important so I understand why it's temporarily been paused for now. The fact that no one has had their salaries cut, hours cut or redundancies made like so many other companies I know is testament to Bulb.
