ButcherBox had an amazing culture when I joined - authentic & genuine. In the last year, two inexperienced people in the executive team have taken over and created a toxic Mean Girls culture. They dismiss or push out those who have real experience and expertise and only reward those in their inner circle. It feels like a hostile takeover happened and the CEO is allowing it, which is strange when he talks so much about never sacrificing the culture for profit or growth. It's a shame, it used to be a wonderful company and they've thrown all that away.

Very cliquey and if you’re not part of the clique then you will never be promoted. Only open to new ideas if a particular person in leadership recommends it otherwise they will shut you down. If you want to be successful you can forget about work/life balance. Very disorganized and no clear objectives from leadership leading to confusion for many teams. People tend to be passive aggressive resulting in a tense work environment.
