Pros

Very knowledgeable colleagues across each department. People know their stuff at BBE. Focus on personal development is cool. Reading relevant books on company time was encouraged and I liked that. Work life balance was well supported

Cons

Constantly shifting plans and ideas caused chaos. One minute we are focusing on one thing. Then that idea goes in the bin and our focus is elsewhere. Decisions are made that are difficult to make sense of and any questioning is met with "this is how it is". Management's focus is on pleasing the C-Suite rather than to the employees in their teams or to the customers they serve. Customer focus has been lost. We have gone from being totally dedicated to discovering and serving the needs of the customer to being focused on squeezing every last penny they have for as little as possible in return. The ICP focuses on how a customer can fulfill the business needs rather than how we can best meet a customer's needs. The inability to attract staff and the hemorrhaging of skilled colleagues have caused huge bottlenecks in service provision. There is little internal confidence in the service offering. Pay is poor. False promises on top of false promises on top of false promises.

Pros

-Lots of opportunities to learn more about Amazon from your colleagues. -Great co-workers and some strong lasting friendships have been built.

Cons

-Everyone, especially the poor content writers and designers, are way overworked and underpaid. And whenever pay is brought up, we are told that our pay is well over the National average. This is Not true when compared to similar roles within the same industry. Do you’re research. And the gap in pay between management and employees is staggering. Where is Robin Hood when you need him?!? -This inevitably leads to high turnover due to employee unhappiness and management/exec.’s unwillingness to pay true competitive wages equal to the skill level, knowledge, and workload of the respective roles. -When pay structure is changed, it’s worse for the employees and pitched/sold to us so hard from management about how great it is. Which results in some skepticism and push back leading to more trust issues with the higher ups as well as increasing work tension. -High turnover results in more work being dumped on those who have stayed, and the cycle continues. -Promotions / growth / minuscule raises only come to those who are “regularly active” (typically the load/outgoing/annoying brown noiser) in the company slack channels…making it so that those who are actually working and growing their accounts and succeeding in their role, rather than sitting in slack all day, are overlooked/over shadowed. -Management says they are, or like to be, transparent, but will lie through their teeth and make empty promises to your face until the cows come home. But don’t call them out for it when you catch them doing this…they tend to not like that. -Anyone who isn’t “buddy buddy” with the three primary c-level exec.’s (CEO, CRO, & COO) better walk on egg shells or start kissing up because your time is limited. But even if you do kiss up to them, if they don’t like you, you’re as good as gone so start looking for a new job.
