Toxic work environment with poor management

Pros

The handful of lovely people that work there.

Cons

The management at this company is extremely poor, fostering a toxic work culture. It is a male-dominated environment, and unfortunately, the few women in higher positions seem to allow or even encourage unacceptable behaviour. One employee left due to sexual harassment, yet the person responsible is still employed, which is incredibly shocking and disappointing. This is even more disturbing given that many hardworking, dedicated employees were recently made redundant. Line manager was passive-aggressive with no sense of leadership or direction. We were expected to make our own agendas, with no training or support provided. Worse yet, they would always side with another unreasonable bully manager, even after acknowledging their behaviour, all due to favouritism and political games. The line manager would also openly complain about other team members to the rest of us in an unprofessional manner, which created a toxic and divisive environment. All of this was covered up with fake niceties to maintain a false sense of friendliness. Salaries are also poor, and when you ask for fair reviews or raises, they treat you as if you’re asking for their firstborn child. It’s clear that this company does not prioritise the well-being, safety, or fair treatment of its staff. Avoid if you’re looking for a respectful, inclusive workplace with reasonable compensation.
