Pros

-An overall nice work environment - casual but hard-working -Compensation is decent or at least in-line with the industry -Employee-owned so great healthcare, bonuses, etc. -Opportunity for travel -Straight pay means you're paid for overtime -Nebulous boundaries between engineers and geologists allows for each to broaden their skill sets

Cons

-Often travel can be abrupt and daunting, especially for those with family / loved ones -Severe lack of structure within the company makes it difficult to know how to advance -Only recently created HR "department" out of necessity. No one wants to deal with those kinds of difficult issues -Tough place for females. Kind of a good-ol-boys club -Sink-or-swim mentality

Pros

Great place for self-motivated, go-getters. Work is challenging, yet interesting, and hours can be long, but you are compensated for them. Company has strong core values that seem to be shared by most employees.

Cons

Company's structure is a little opaque, and it is not very clear how to progress your career, or know you are on the right track. No formal reviews.
