Pros

There are opportunities to quickly advance (to a degree).

Cons

The pay is really not enough for keeping up with cost of living. People at this company work consulting/banking hours and make 1/2 of the money. It's really not worth it. A lot of your commission really isn't in your control at all, because clients will get cold feet last minute, or just stop talking to you when you're about to make a "sale." The work culture discourages lunch breaks, and Capvision doesn't provide basic holidays almost every major New York company would receive. The office is open-concept (for the most part) which is really horrible in a job where everyone is making calls. Good luck focusing with 40 other people talking at the same time.

Pros

Really nice office space in Rockefeller. The silver lining of Capvision is anyone below management. Every interaction I had with other research associates, client associates, senior research associates, etc, were positive ones. Lastly, the pay is decent for entry level/fresh out of college applicants.

Cons

Yes, sometimes *sometimes* you get the opportunity to speak with very interesting people from a wide variety of industries who you usually wouldn't get the chance to. Despite this, you're really just acting as a bridge or a 'messenger' between them and the client. The experts can be a pleasure to speak to over the phone, but they really don't care much about you- at least not enough to learn anything about you or create a relationship with you. Conversations with experts would feel much more valuable if there was some opportunity to get your foot in the door, but I would say this is highly unlikely from my experience. There are some projects that come in that might really strike your interest, but for the most part, they tend to be super random and not very interesting. Upper management will try to tell you that hitting target has nothing to do with luck, but it does. This is simply the nature of the industry, but unfortunately at Capvision you have to hit target in order to be hybrid, get a bonus, etc. There are absolutely things you can do to slightly improve your chances of hitting target, but all in all, it is luck. If you tell your managers this, they will probably react by telling you that you should volunteer for more work outside of normal office hours, which is difficult if you want to keep a solid work-life balance. People who prioritize work over everything else are favored and applauded. If you're not someone who does this, it's almost as if you don't exist to upper management. Hours are very long, especially considering WFH is only allowed 1 day of the week. If you are looking for a position in which you can really use your brain, improve any skills, or feel fulfilled in any way- I wouldn't recommend.
