Being a small employer, we try to be as competitive as we can be with our salaries. What I have found though, is that employees tend not to include the generous benefits that we provide, as part of their compensation package. We cover 60% of the health insurance premiums for all full-time employees and offer an Employer match on our 401K Plan. Many of employers of our size don't even offer a 401K Plan, let alone do a match. As far as growth goes, I find that to be an unfair statement as it really depends on your own motivation and goals. Many employees have started on the operations side as support staff and have moved into roles as Administrative Assistants, Marketing Assistants, Assistant Shift Captains, Shift Captains, Client Services Managers, Operations Manager, HR Manager, Office Manager, Marketing Manager, Events Manager . . . I think you get the picture. There actually hasn't been a role here outside of my job as President, that hasn't been filled internally more often than not. Our philosophy is to enable our employees to learn as much as possible, so that they gain skills that can be applied in any future employment even if it's not in hospitality.
