Poor leadership and heading in the wrong direction

Pros

The immediate team was great, but most of those people have probably left now. OK pay at some levels. Canteen seems to be trying hard.

Cons

The wholesale side of the business is holding up the consumer side. The responsibility for the LloydsPharmacy brand has been handed over to a very small, though well-meaning agency, which feels like it might be going in the wrong direction. Management (excluding the MD) seem largely unwilling to interact and be visible to their staff, which is unfortunate and creates an air of suspicion. There were a lot of passionate and bright people in the organisation, but they weren't being nurtured well enough, meaning they have been culled and only the 'yes people' who are happy to lead the brand in the wrong direction are left (with a few exceptions).

Pros

Location good, nothing else to say on this subject

Cons

Poor leadership, unrealistic deadlines and workload, poor training. Which are all the reasons why I left after finding another job. Speaking to the pharmacies, they are under ridiculous pressure to deliver, often short staffed & again working with a heavy workload that is unachievable

Pros

Great culture with genuine focus on wanting to help patients in Pharmacy and beyond. Lots of passionate and devoted staff across the business.

Cons

Lack of clear strategy. Staff development is largely platitudes that sound good with lack of any commitment to people. It’s all short term thinking. Incompetent people largely retained and no ability to deliver on projects. No commitment to long term business planning, with a scattergun focus on what the patients, customer and business need. Lots of short sighted, short term decision making rewarding compliant staff over those offering leadership. Hugely expensive redundancy programme every 2 years which continually undermines the business and morale of staff.
