Pros

Remote work so you dont have to sit in a greenhouse in Waterloo.

Cons

I've signed an NDA so cant say too much. All I would say is there's a reason the company has a revolving door of employees - the smart ones seem to get out within a couple of months, some wait until they're able to get equity and then move on. I plan to hand in my notice soon. Culture - what culture? Non - existent and if there, poisionious. They hire you under the pretence of one job but push you into another they do this to everyone - regardless of your role. Internal communications and general processes are a mess. You dont have an opinion - you get hired and told what to do - if you dont like that, you get fired. The product has way too many limitations (features, functionality and licensing issues) that the company isnt price competitive. The company is only selling stuff because of the focus on ESG currently - it thinks it's ahead but it's actually way behind. There are SERIOUS product limitations with regard to data. I would avoid this company.

It’s really disappointing to hear you haven’t had as good of an experience at Clarity AI as other reviews suggest. We definitely do not have HR writing them by the way... Regarding your comment on this “revolving door of employees.” Within the last year, we’ve actually had 0 turnover of employees within their first couple of months, and we’ve had very few involuntary leaves (only 1 actually in the last 12 months). Considering we’ve hired 125 people in that time, this is a very low %. Transparency has always been a key component to our culture, and feedback is a very important part of that. I’m sorry if you’ve felt your opinions have gone unheard. I would be happy to discuss this further with you (confidentially, of course) if you reach out to the HR team.

Pros

- Smart people at operational level. Young, fun atmosphere. - Lots of flexibility in terms of where you work from.

Cons

The culture is quite exploitative and misogynistic, evidenced by a recent exodus of high-performing, mostly female employees (despite a 70/30 male/female split), which is ironic considering Clarity AI is an ESG company. Be wary of the highly positive reviews: depending on your role, age or gender, you may not be exposed to some of the worst aspects of the culture. - Poor work life balance within many teams, with low salaries, made worse by low to no annual salary increase. Your salary might seem competitive when you start, but after 1-2 years it falls well bellow market average. - Senior leaders typically have high salaries, leading to high wage disparity. - Lack of professionalism exhibited by many members of the leadership team, including aggressive behavior and inappropriate remarks. - Misogynistic tendencies trickling down from senior leadership and the CEO, who proudly claims she “thinks like a man” to the entire company in the context of what she views as diversity and inclusion. - Middle managers are not prepared or trained to be people managers, leaving employees feeling micromanaged while unsupported and frustrated. - Culture of constant criticism without being constructive, never celebrating wins. - Zero career growth or personal development. I was reluctant to leave this review at first, but decided to share my experience since it diverges from many of the other reviews shared on this site, and I believe my experience reflects those of several others who have left the company within the past year.

Thank you for sharing your opinion, and we will seriously consider your comments. We also would like to provide some references since we have been working to support the growth of our talents. For example, on the compensation side, we have an annual complete review cycle where we review all employees' salaries and two promotions cycles per year. We have management training focused on supporting our existing and newly promoted managers to become better people managers. More than 50 managers have been part of this Training so far. We are very committed to working on diversity, and on a positive note, the female representation in Clarity AI is structurally higher than what you mentioned. We know there is still work to do on this side and our commitment to diversity very strong. As mentioned, we are a young company, and the way ahead of us is still long. We are sorry if your experience in Clarity AI was not what you expected; we will keep working on improving every day.
