Global INGO with great values, incredible people and noble mission
Pros
Incredibly smart and hard-working people in the entire organisation; Mission driven; Super focussed on impact of work and in improving lives of people in relatively resource constraint countries; Strong relations with Ministries of Health, which allows CHAI to work in harmony with Ministry counterparts; One of the best healthcare insurance benefits for employees; Overall good culture in the organisation but this can vary from country to country and from department to department.
Cons
Not specific to CHAI but all global NGOs are donor dependent, which means organisations have to stay flexible with changing donor landscape and donor investment strategies. Although professional development processes has improved slightly this continues to be unclear and inconsistent across different departments. Compensation could be better.
