Doesn't RecommendPositive OutlookApproves of CEOI worked at Compass Lexecon
Pros
Great atmosphere, very collaborative, lots of involvement with senior management, lots of contact with colleagues at other European offices, co-location with parent company makes it feel like a bigger company, semi transparent leadership team.
Cons
team can work very very long hours and can get very stressful, sometimes at the expenses of praise for hard work and feeling valued. stressful atmosphere sometimes means that people can become unresponsive and over focused. Management need to take more care of HR procedures and work with HR to uphold them. HR procedures not always upheld and followed.
Advice to Management
More transparency, more praise, follow HR procedures, better communication

I have been working at Compass Lexecon full-time
Pros
Great variety with industries, projects. Exposure is fantastic because you are always working closely with the senior management. Secondments between European offices are very common.
Cons
Small company atmosphere can sometimes get in the way of simple things. Firm focuses only on competition (this applies to CL Europe only).
Advice to Management
Establish processes as the firm grows (which it is doing very fast).

Pros
The pay. Looks good on resume.
Cons
Do not work here if you enjoy seeing your family and friends. You can only have weekend plans if your bosses allow it no matter how far in advance you ask. Working here was the most miserable experience of my life. My coworkers and I referred to it as prison on the regular.

Doesn't RecommendI worked at Compass Lexecon full-time for more than 3 years
Pros
Great pool of peers to work with Free Friday lunches Decent office snacks
Cons
Absolute disrespect of work-life balance (above and beyond what is expected in the consulting industry) Unreasonable expectations that are not well communicated Disregard for meaningful career development Micromanagement stifles growth Overtime structure of payment promotes skewed incentives
Advice to Management
Listen to your analysts, senior analysts and economists when they express unhappiness and burnout - saying you do the same is not a solution Help junior staff take on more responsibilities and develop as well rounded workers Respect that analysts will complete their work and get things done and do not need to be micromanaged constantly
