Condor knowingly violates the Employment Standards Act by not paying their employees for mandatory training AND actually forcing the employees to pay $18 for the privilege of receiving their training.
It is clear to me that Condor is looking to take advantage of uneducated employees and do not value the time of potential employees. After bringing me in for a "short" first interview (which took over an hour by the time they got around to interviewing me, even though I was under the impression I had a scheduled time for my interview), they asked me back for an orientation which was supposed to take 2 hours. This orientation was scheduled with me less than 24 hours in advance, and was unpaid. During the orientation I quickly learned that after already using 3 hours of my unpaid time, they intended to have new employees go through 10 hours of mandatory training which the employee will not be paid for. Not only is is against the Employment Standards Act to not pay employees for mandatory training, it is just plain misleading and dishonest to not be upfront about the job requirements. Instead, Condor elects to waste the time and resources of potential and new employees.
