Pros
The staff is great, the customers are positive.
Cons
The upper management is difficult. The "Contender Way" is something they tout, which means it is their way or the highway. They make employees believe that they could never find a job anywhere else or doing anything else. They micromanage to the N'th degree. They watch over you on video and audio the entire day to where the movement on camera buzz's their phone. If you make a mistake, they beat you down instead of working with you to correct the issue. The morning meetings and weekly emails are not positive at all. They give the rundown on what everyone is doing wrong. I've never heard a good word in their daily communications to the staff. They read the emails of the employees under the Contender.com emails. Even human resources. That is unforgivable. How can an employee feel comfortable knowing what they say will be read by someone else or potentially the person they have an issue with? When you give your two weeks notice, they tell you to leave after a day because it is easier for them to count you as a no-show instead of paying you the time you gave them out of respect. They have spit out multiple managers in the last several months and continue to say that they "weren't the Contender way" They have to understand that it is a management issue and not the people they are hiring after so many leave. My advice is that if you are thinking about working at Contender, it may look great from the outside, but it is not a good place inside.
