Pros
Great environment to work in.
Cons
They expect unpaid overtime and try to convince employees that it’s about being “committed to the mission.” The salary does not match the number of hours you are expected to work. They also frequently require staff to stay late for events without offering any additional compensation. Other employees feel the same way, but many are afraid to speak up. Although the school is Catholic, it operates very similarly to a charter school, so there is really little difference between the two in terms of expectations and workload. This may be a decent first job to gain experience, but not a long-term career option. There are much better opportunities in education where you can earn significantly more and have a healthier work-life balance.
