Pros

Its easy to work here. Nothing much is going on.

Cons

If you want to expand your skill sets then you won't learn much here as they have a old legacy system.

Pros

Brilliant Coworkers, Interesting Tech, Limited Bureaucracy, plenty of opportunity to show your skills and grow in responsibility. Management actually cares about being good employers.

Cons

There are some strong personalities here. If you are not an adaptable person, you may not thrive in this environment. Don't expect to change the organization into how you think it should be on your first day. You need to actually prove your position when you work with this many philosophers.

Pros

There are some very good places to eat nearby.

Cons

Working here is like being stuck between the Twilight Zone and the Exorcist. Upper management is toxic. While many reviews display awe for the core group, the sad truth is that they are stuck in the 1980s in terms of technology. I suspect many stay at Cycorp because the skills they learn here are outdated and finding a good job with 1980s skills is a no-op. It is easy for them to be big fish in a small pond in another dimension. The technology is not really very impressive. It is intelligent in the way that Data on the Next Generation reads off time estimates to the microsecond when everyone really just wants to know what day it is. In other words, it's artificially non-intelligent to specify how many microseconds we are into a day given the desire to know only what the day is. That precision is the product of the top-dog's attempt to impress, but stating more than is needed is unintelligent - not intelligent. There is some kind of revolving door between DARPA and Cycorp. This revolving door probably has more to do with why Cycorp continues to receive funding than it has to do with the value of Cycorp's work. This is my humble opinion, but I stand by it.
