Dear Former Employee,
We are sorry that you feel this way regarding D4. It sounds like you had pretty negative experience during your time with us and we're sorry about that. We have an open culture at D4, so it is unfortunate, given that you rated everything with one star, that you didn't bring any of your issues to our attention for resolution. One of our core values is the belief that we are all working for each other. Everybody has a voice and can effect change for the benefit of each other and for our clients.
Your rating of work-life balance with one star seems to contradict another core value- that work is not life and life is not work. We have a history of pro-actively minimizing after-hours work, making allowances for working-from-home days to take care of kids, not docking hours for doctors appointments, and most importantly, supporting people who have suffered serious illnesses way beyond the norm of most businesses.
Over a 20+ year history, most of our employees stay with us for more than 5 years, which speaks for itself. We make an effort to hire employees who are self-reliant, self-motivated, and hold themselves accountable for their actions, minimizing the need to micromanage. But having said that, there have been some employees that have not been able to thrive without a lot of direct oversight, and those that have taken advantage of our process-light environment, and such people were encouraged to move on.
Regarding use of "your machine", D4 provides state-of-the-art computers to our design teams. Sometimes individuals will opt to utilize their own computers to access assets or files they believe will help them be more efficient. We continue to invest in the highest quality computers not only for our creative teams, but also for our audio and video editing suites.
Since there are few details in your review, we would like the opportunity to address your specific concerns directly and in a constructive manner. You are welcome to contact senior management or HR directly anytime.
Again, thanks for your input, and best of luck to you in your future endeavors.
