Pros

DICE has this awesome product that really stands out in the industry. It has some super cool features that make it unique and interesting

Cons

DICE recently went through a downsizing. The selection process for those let go in the engineering department was, from my perspective, less than transparent and seemed arbitrary, resulting in the loss of employees who were uniquely suited to open positions within the organization. This approach has raised concerns about the company's regard for its employees and its own best interests. Furthermore, the Q&A sessions hosted by a management representative after the downsizing were disappointing. The responses provided were inconsistent, often defied common sense, and seemed more designed to compel acceptance of what had happened rather than offer genuine clarity or solace. Employees are perceptive, and such actions can further erode trust. The perceived misalignment of the engineering leadership's actions during this period with the well-being of employees and the broader goals of the company has led to a noticeable decrease in trust in leadership and posed questions about the future state of the company culture.

Pros

Only Pro - Some of the people are nice and make coming to work worth the stress

Cons

Where do I start: 1, The CEO does not care about staff. He is rude, has zero social skills and doesn't mind embarrassing staff in front of their colleagues, including in a company wide meeting! He also showed no remorse when his staff were getting robbed on their lunch breaks! 2, Managers that can't manage. I've never seen so many headless chickens running around an office before it's crazy 3, Racism is rife. If you are white you'll be fine, but if you are a person of colour then you will face discrimination on every level. It's clear the DEI team is just for show (which is a shame because the team is lovely) because POC just don't stand a chance at DICE 4, Being open and honest. This new office that was meant to be opening March then September has been a mess. We still don't have access to the whole building and the parts we do have access to wasn't really worth waiting for. The space doesn't even look like it can hold all the staff in it. 5, Hybrid working. Do we have a set policy, don't we? Are we in 3 or 5 days a week? Who knows because we don't! 6, Turnover. As much as DICE are hiring at a crazy rate, they are also losing staff just as quick which is saying something. The best way to describe DICE is a sweatshop! Staff are overworked and burnt out but are forced to keep going and they come and go like the Dalston Junction to Highbury and Islington tube!

Pros

DICE is filled with some of the most creative, innovative and talented people you’ll come across. There are some absolute gems across the company and it’s been great working at a company where people are so passionate about the brand. Solid pay Free snacks, drinks & breakfast Unlimited holiday policy Overall relaxed vibes

Cons

Unfortunately I have to echo a lot of other reviews here. It’s easy to think that most of these reviews are coming from bitter former/current employees, or that people are “woke” but it’s important to really consider what’s written in these reviews no matter your background. * lack of progression and opportunity. This is pretty much on every level but more so if you are entry level, you will stay there. This is fine because when accepting a job there is no guarantee of progression so it shouldn’t be expected. But DICE has hired so many great minds so shouldn’t be surprised that ppl want more & have more to contribute. DICE is still wasting time talking & mapping out “progression frameworks” rather than implementing them. It’s smoke & mirrors for the fact that there’s little to no growth opportunity here. There should be no confusion as to why people are leaving especially ppl that have been here for 2years+. The bottom line, whatever job you take here, you are most likely going to be pigeonholed, no matter what level. * Incompetent & patronising leadership - this is a hard one. There are some great leaders at DICE and some who I question how they are people managers. They do not represent the DICE values or have leadership quality or experience. Some address us like children. * Lack of diversity - BS reporting on gender & ethnicity pay gaps for the past 2years. DICE should be ashamed for the way in which it has continually chosen to present the data to its employees. For example, we are expected to celebrate “high” % of female leadership whilst ignoring that that leadership is all white. It’s 2024. Learn about intersectionality & do better. As a company that sells tickets for LGBTQIA+ & kink spaces, black spaces & spaces for typically marginalised groups DICE needs to do a LOT better than its counterparts because it occupies a unique space in this industry. DICE continues to maintain the status quo whilst claiming to disrupt it. * Loss of company direction - haven’t got a clue what the company is trying to do anymore. * Office vibes - the vibe in the office is flat and empty. The only thing keeping a vibe going is the incredible DEI team who work super hard to bring people together through breakfasts & ECGs. Without them the culture at DICE would be way worse.
