Pros

- Interesting Projects - Direct Communication with Client - Hybrid Work Culture - Cool Office - Against Interest

Cons

- Questionable QA Practices - Test case data collection is required by the POs and C-level management but they don't do anything with the sheet. From what I have observed they only use it to blame individuals rather than improving the quality. - Product Owner's lack Agile fundamentals. - DPL monitors to blame, not to improve. - Growth plans. I wonder when the OD team which by the way is directly under CEO implements something. - Average Salaries. Which are always deposited late. - No Provident Fund after claiming that it is in process. - Personal grudges from C-Level and management people. The management encourages individuals to speak truth and defy the "norms" AKA "be a Rebel" but they and if someone does become a "Rebel" and speaks truth therefore personal grudges take root. - No Eid Bonuses. - No promotions. - HR lies and delays appraisals a lot. - Less than market competitive appraisals are given and almost every employee is requested to stay by saying that you'll learn a lot. - No Annual recreational activities. Only one trip takes place in summers which is not managed properly, No annual dinners. Employees are encouraged to do activities themselves which then they can rebrand as DPL's activity. - Reward based marketing schemes. It mostly involves sharing CEO's message on LinkedIn and Facebook and then you are awarded petty points.

Pros

- Flexible Timings - Hybrid Working Environment - Complex Projects - Interest Free Healthcare

Cons

- Micromanagement - Less than average salaries - Not much benefits - Sells growth plans which are never implemented - Arrogant management - Months of delays in yearly appraisal - Penny appraisals - Discrimination, the employees who show-off more are celebrated instead of the ones that actually work hard - Politics by the POs - Encourage feedbacks but uses these feedbacks against employees - Has implanted systems by which one has to "earn" the benefits through some weird point system - No outdoor recreational activities, only does one trip a year - A single individual is required to put in a tremendous amount of work - No promotions, People are hardly promoted. Most of the people who had promotions are either the ones who have spent 5+ years at the company and have no competence or the people who are good at talking

Thank you so much for your feedback. This is one thing we honestly try our best to work on to ensure that DPL remains a people-centric space. Some of the cons you mentioned on the list are aspects that we are trying our hardest to work on. Change usually comes with a lot of mistakes and requires time. So, we're glad for the people who stuck by us and continue helping us move forth. And it's these people who are now growing splendidly with the help of OD's growth plans. However, there are certain aspects that we beg to differ about. Discrimination is one thing we don't tolerate at DPL and have terminated individuals cause of it. Hard-working employees' work speaks for itself and is reported through constant feedback as well as annual reviews. This is how they earn the benefits DPL has to offer. The 'system' you mentioned is for additional perks that most employers don't offer and are used to incentivize Rebels to go beyond the call of duty to help promote culture, expand their knowledge, etc. As a people-centric company, we also provide our teams with different opportunities to bond and take breaks. The annual trip you mentioned is one, but we do have monthly indoor activities, an annual dinner, and even a sports event. The latter isn't including the activities conducted by the different clubs/circles in DPL and funded by the company.

Pros

Welcoming onboarding experience. Hybrid work model. Flexible timings. Clean and tidy workspace.

Cons

• No financial growth even after multiple performance cycles. • More of an experiment ground than a workplace. • No provident fund. • Extremely high turnover. Many don’t last beyond a year, and silent layoffs are common. • Feedback channels, “Ask Syed” sessions and surveys are just surface-level PR. • You hardly get to build strong friendships with coworkers because people leave so often. • Company charges clients for top-tier talent but cuts costs internally by overburdening staff. • Mostly hires fresh grads or GTOs to keep salaries low. • Performance reviews are vague. Sometimes they just say things like “your work didn’t have a wow factor” or “you’re not active in our culture.” • Engineers are regularly forced to take on unrelated roles (QA, DevOps, AWS) under the guise of “growth” when in reality, it’s to avoid hiring proper resources. • Religious ideology is casually inserted into sessions in ways that discourage employees from seeking better pay or growth. • That “most loved workplace” title seems like it comes from new joiners who haven’t faced an annual review yet. Summary: DPL feels less like a workplace and more like an ongoing experiment. People come and go constantly, and just when you build meaningful connections with colleagues, they disappear. This instability affects not only your professional growth but also your personal peace of mind. Behind all the “culture” branding is a cost-saving machine. You’re expected to over-deliver, take on unrelated roles, and still be ready for abstract criticism like “lack of wow” in your work. Instead of hiring actual resources, engineers are stretched thin across roles, then shown the door when the company decides to “refresh.”
