Pros
Honestly not a lot, but if I had to say something I guess that it’s remote
Cons
This is a really toxic work environment, friends of the owner or people who are very close advisors have all the control. If you are on their good side then the world will shift for you, if not good luck. I have seen first hand several people get surprised “demoted” with no chance to improve performance. Management gives very little direction about what the position is and then will change it on a moment's notice. You will get hired for one "job," told to do a completely different "job," told you're not doing that "job" well, and then demoted for doing things completely out of your wheelhouse. The financial stability is really questionable. You'll hear at one point that the company has been in existence for years but any LinkedIn search will show that the owner of the company claims all working experience as the company "existing" which it highly concerning. It really is a start up and while the two or three people at the top are going on vacation you'll be wondering where your next check is going to come from. If you check the dates all of the sudden there are a bunch of rave reviews following the first negative review. The first five star review is from the management days after the first negative review. Be prepared for meetings where you have to watch people play with their dogs when you could be doing something better.
Pros
Active Slack channels, friendly coworkers, opportunities to learn marketing skills
Cons
A lot of toxic "girl boss" energy, too many in-person company events, and senseless spending from the CEO. The CEO also does not have as much experience as she claims. Poor leadership direction and unethical firing/demotion practices, especially if you don't agree with the CEO. Someone was demoted without any warning, with their pay drastically decreased. They had about two days to accept their new "offer" of decreased pay and were not given any chances beforehand to improve their performance. The interview process takes several months, and most of the team does not have marketing experience. This was a white-label marketing agency, and it's very clear that white-labeling does not work. The pay rates do not match up with industry standards and experience. The no-expectation Fridays mean it's hard to get ahold of anyone if you choose to work on a Friday. The 35-hour work week is not as progressive as it seems. Studies have shown that 4-day work weeks are typically 32 hours/week. The 35 hours here means cramming in nearly 9 hours of work in 4 days. PTO was only 7 days, but you can take unlimited unpaid time off.
Pros
There’s nothing good about working for this group of spoiled adult children.
Cons
Owner is mentally unstable and out of touch with reality. Treats people like garbage.
