Pros

Supportive material that was given as part of my training plan. Sociable atmosphere with drinks on a Friday and coffee rounds, with being included in outside of work activities such as football. Laid back office environment.

Cons

They were expecting me to learn something in a job I have never done before, the training started off well to begin but after the first few weeks my manager and my former superior didn't have the time to run any training or assign me to a course (that I was promised). They have a bad structure when it comes to training and development. The company expected me to learn about Oracle licensing when I have never worked in licensing or Oracle for that matter. This company tries every tactic to cut corners as part of cost saving, they outsource to countries because they can hire cheap labour. Another person who started the same time as me worked in India, my manager was even boosting how much the company is saving on his pay. It shows no job security for hard working and educated people living in the UK. I was given false hopes saying ''I am going to be a fantastic software asset manager'' and ''this is a career move, all I want from you is commitment'', its all a load of nonsense. I was told from day one and many times I would be sent on a training course by Oracle, which didn't happen! They wanted to save themselves from paying me a full month salary due to their cheap cost cutting methods. I remember my manager called me in for that meeting on his day off, without any notice at all. I didn't think much about their recruitment process, it was very time consuming especially when their was a wide gap between interviews. I recall having to chase them after they approached me at first for a job.

Pros

They paid on time even though they are running out of money

Cons

No sales leadership with any experience. All the real leaders left or were pushed out. The company is the worst company I have ever worked for. Imagine being stuck on an island where you are the only person who is capable of rational thought and that could string a coherent sentence together. The rest of the people stuck on the island are also cannibals. That would go someway to understanding what working at DI is like. UK leadership team now comprises solely of people who say yes to anything with no backbone. Excellent leadership material.

Company in Decline

Pros

Possibly work from home but not unique to DI

Cons

Uncertain environment and feels to be in decline, frequent redundancies with ambiguous justifications as companies around recover from COVID-19 Reducing customer base Lack of clarity and direction Very poor exec team Appears to value profit too strongly over quality to their detriment as the balance is wrong Seems to be a lack of planning 3 - 5 - 10 year plans No improvements made in over 2 years and if anything this echoes the perception of decline Significant nepotism - if you've worked with certain people before you get a job. No equal ops at all
