Staff not valued at all

Pros

Lots of access to car parts etc and workshop. Most of the staff were great people. Free drinking water...

Cons

Staff are worked to the maximum legal limits (longer than most people's normal working week...and that's on the short week! 51hrs worked every other week for most staff). Pay seemed OK, but then broken down to hourly rate wasn't great as so many hours were worked. Very little flexibility (the fortnightly Saturday can't be taken off as holiday, you must find someone willing to swap). Staff were not really listened to or valued, never a thank-you to be heard from senior management. An overarching sense of fear was cultured to try to keep everyone in line. Lots of promises of future benefits that don't materialise to the point where there was very little trust left. The positive company review was quite obviously left by senior management, no staff member I worked with there would have those opinions (and blame the staff for the only negative point about the company!).

Pros

The company has a lovely new building which has been fitted to ensure your stay at work is a comfortable one, the company take matters such as health and safety seriously, which is odd because they work you to the maximum amount of hours possible whilst giving the least amount of breaks possible. Most colleagues are great, there are a few who do very little yet because they are very friendly with the management they get away with it.

Cons

When you break down the salary of £18,500 into monthly salary it is £1,541 pre tax which is £385 per week pre tax, which is £77 per day, which sounds great, until you remember each day is 08:30 until 5:30 with 30 minutes a day unpaid lunch, 8.5 hours divided by £77, puts you on £9.05 an hour! This is amazing, well not when you factor in the two Saturdays per month you have to do too, this means you work a total of 187 hours per month for £1,541 pre tax, meaning you are actually on £8.24 an hour, which is still higher than basic wage, however, when you then have to deal with: * Fake stock. * Purchasers that don't have a clue. * PHONES! * Egos. * Knowledge that sales do very little yet actually get commission. * Knowledge that you will actually be lying to customers as management do not understand sales of goods act. * Dead-end seat with no progression. * No money for pay rises yet multi million pound cars parked up right below your feet, also MD turns up in a different flash car every day.

Pros

Work here if you want no work life balance and enjoy being treated like an enemy

Cons

Management is disconnected from regular waged employees, they're more concerned with greed and shocking customer service and upper management than actually making Demon Tweeks a good work environment. They're more interested in funding self absorbed pet projects than providing a decent work environment and decent wages. They're so self absorbed they have no idea how inappropriate they are in their language on a day to day basis or how they look down on employees below them. I've personally so called Management selectively enforces the employment policies based on whatever they're agenda is. When exceptions should be made, they throw the book at employees. The company in general is a total frat house. They have a severe problem with hiring a diverse workforce. The concept of what is appropriate language in a workplace is completely lost at Demon Tweeks. The only way to move up in this company is to bro down with the fratty environment and management. Otherwise you have to endure it until you finally quit (or get fired).
