I worked at Direct Energy full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Benefits were amazing. Plenty of great leaders, newest C-level leaders especially. Lots of freedom for ideas and accessing individuals in different departments was not hard or frowned-upon. Work from home even before pandemic.

    Cons

Certain key stakeholder leaders really caused frustrations and were very arrogant and unwilling to do anything outside their own ideas. Business politics for positions and earning awards, etc. is super bad there making it hard to advance career or have a clear path.

    Pros

Direct Energy was nimble and liked to push deal design limits

    Cons

NRG (new parent) does not participate in "best of breed" hiring; so far seems like thousands of layers to get anything done.
