Pros

Things are looking up, as the President has resigned and the Eastern Board of Directors have hired a new President. The former had not raised a single penny for the university and indeed dipped into a principal fund to build a gym, restructured the hierarchy and fired tenured professors. He left the university in debt. His departure was good news. The new President is a highly competent and experienced individual who has spent many years in the academic trenches.

Cons

Top-heavy management. Not enough support for the arts for a liberal arts university.

nice campus, passionate people, friendly students

Cons

The university is in some serious debt. There is no money to update infrastructure but somehow a new athletic center was built. Shows you where priorities are at. Pay is horribly low and under market value for positions. Everyone is overworked and we don't have the resources we need to properly do our jobs. Upper management is too top heavy. No leadership there.

Pros

Decent benefits for employees in Philadelphia. Coworkers are caring and really dedicated. Students make it worthwhile. Time off in between Christmas and New Year's Day is fantastic.

Cons

Everything is mismanaged. Management isn't secure and tends to micromanage. Employee morale is awful. Everyone is underpaid, but told to be appreciative. No one can fully do his or her job.
