Pros

EDUCAUSE serves higher education IT leaders and professionals while also engaging a wide range of stakeholders dedicated to advancing higher education through technology. This provides EDUCAUSE staff with the opportunity to work with innovative, mission-oriented members and fosters an organizational culture that is similarly focused on innovation in support of higher education's mission. Association employees enjoy positive working relationships that emphasize cooperation and collaboration, and association leaders strive to foster a working environment that incorporates staff input and respects work-life balance.

Cons

Associations are constantly challenged in terms of balancing member needs with available resources, especially as those needs evolve. EDUCAUSE works hard as an organization to keep its events, research, and programs aligned with current and emerging member needs, but timing the end of legacy activities with the launch of new innovations is not always a smooth process. As a result, staff are challenged at times to manage the maintenance or wind-down of legacy efforts while getting new projects off the launch pad.

Pros

EDUCAUSE allows a flexible work schedule with a strong emphasis on work-life balance. Employees are given a good level of autonomy and trusted to manage their responsibilities without micromanagement. My management team is supportive and open to ideas and offer opportunities for growth and skill development.

Cons

Remote work environment may not be ideal for those who prefer in-person collaboration or frequent face to face interactions.

Pros

Great benefits, generous leave, and no stressful commute. I work with smart, motivated people who truly believe in what we do. The culture is supportive and collaborative, and it’s a place where i can see myself building a long career with.

Cons

Like many growing organizations, we could use more hands
