Pros

1) Production Team makes a pretty cool product. 2) Free Coffee sometimes

Cons

Leaving this company was the best decision of my career. They’re grossly mismanaged at the top, highly intent on controlling/micromanaging every aspect of people’s jobs. The company is too frugal to hire more/better admin staff, which means management is even less effective at doing its job - including taking care of their employees. Many employee’s reviews/raises were backlogged by over a year. During my relatively short time there, I heard from at least 5 coworkers that they were promised raises/promotions and the company failed to deliver. They’re so frugal that many basic office amenities are nowhere to be found and the place looks so rundown that you’d be too embarrassed to bring in a client. Their software is so outdated that many employees keep paper records. A few more reasons I left: It’s a ~94% male work environment and you hear near-daily sexist and racist jokes (yes, management knows). There were 0 women in management while I worked there and they fired 2 of the 3 black employees (out of ~70 employees total). They also chastised an ex-employee for sharing their salary, which isn’t exactly legal. This place has an insane amount of turnover as of this past year and seems to be getting worse. If you care about your office environment and morale, about bringing great ideas to the table and seeing them through, or about working for a place that’s run well and takes care of all its employees, do not take a job here. However, if you’re apathetic about all the above, then this might be the right place for you.

To our former employee: we're genuinely sorry and saddened to see this, and only wish we'd been able to identify some of the challenges and frustrations you were feeling while you were here. As a small, but 30-year old firm, we know that not everyone's experience working with us can be perfect, but we can always find ways to improve, and we choose to see this feedback as an opportunity to learn and grow. Addressing a culture of micromanagement is difficult. We do have very high standards; it's the nature of our work and industry. We challenge our team to do their best and despite your experience being a negative one, we do push our more seasoned people to coach and direct those who are struggling to better meet those high standards. Our intention is not to micromanage, but to excel and deliver exceptional, detailed work. If you felt this was done poorly, or was a difficult environment to work in, we apologize. It really is unfortunate to see that a terrific group of team members who are extremely competent, loyal and dedicated to making this firm a great place to work were not able to help alleviate some of your frustrations. Lastly, it's extremely important to us to clarify that we are very proudly a multicultural firm, made up of intelligent, confident, technical and driven women and men from many diverse backgrounds. Our firm is committed to providing a healthy, safe and supportive work environment for all, across the board. But again, we are sorry for any difficulty you experienced while working here, and we 100% take your feedback seriously and will be reviewing it again in detail internally. Thank you again for your service and we wish you the best in your future.

Pros

If you have a big ego as well as know how to lie you will thrive here.

Cons

-The honest employee who tries to express an issue will always get short end of the stick. Most input will be seen as complaining. As management always puts it "we don't want to work with prima donnas". -Upper management constantly used scare tactics to force employees to travel last minute. They would notify you that you are traveling for weeks at a time without even 48 hours notice. If you refuse to travel they will threaten to terminate your position. -The company makes frantic changes that are not well thought out just to scrap the idea months later. -direct managers in my department would always talk down to me and even call me "stupid" which I would hear about from other co-workers.

Pros

Can’t think of any.

Cons

After my time at EENY, I can WHOLEHEARTEDLY confirm this company will never deliver on their promises to you. You will be worked beyond your limits with little to no appreciation and there are ABSOLUTELY ZERO career paths. Good luck ever getting a promotion. You’re hired for whatever you’re hired for and that will never change. “Promotions” are EXTREMELY RARE and are ALWAYS triggered by someone quitting or being fired. TURNOVER IS CRAZY. ABSOLUTE REVOLVING DOOR. “Management” is made of individuals who have no managing skills at all. I can’t stress enough, you will be MICROMANAGED to your furthest limit! Your annual review will be forever proposed so you’ll never know how you’re doing performance-wise. Sadly, everyone at the company is aware of how toxic the place is but no one will do anything about it because the majority of staff is afraid of losing their job. If you speak up, you will be pushed out, trust me. They only want people who keep their nose down. For a “technology” company, this place is an absolute joke. You will never be supplied with current technology and it’s just pathetic in comparison to just about any other office. EENY is a terrible place to work and I’m extremely happy I quit. I have ZERO regrets.

Thank you for your feedback. It's regretful that you felt your work wouldn't be recognized or ever lead to a promotion. As a 30-year firm, we have consistently hired and promoted determined, proactive and collaborative team-players who have the same end goals in mind on each project, which is to always do their very best work. We have had employees who, through sheer determination and excellent performance, moved up in the ranks from entry level technicians to director-level leaders. This has been evident in almost every department, from installations to accounting, and it's truly unfortunate you felt this wasn't a possibility for you. We also pride ourselves in being able to successfully deliver on our projects in difficult situations. The sheer nature of our work can, of course, be stressful on our team but we have always pulled together to give our clients a wonderful experience. We certainly should do more to celebrate our successes (aside from the company parties and team gathering events that we sponsor) and we will work towards this end, so that everyone's hard work and persistence feels appreciated. Performance evaluations are done on an annual basis for our staff and we are working towards completing these in a more timely fashion. But overall, our culture of collaboration is one that has taken many years to develop and your feedback will only help make us better. Thank you and we wish you the best in the future.
