Pros

Since Emerald’s acquisition of our company, I’ve been impressed by how approachable and supportive the leadership team has been especially from a People and HR perspective. It’s refreshing to see leaders who genuinely take the time to listen, connect, and guide through change in such a thoughtful way. The CEO, in particular, has been incredibly kind, personable, and down-to-earth, it really sets the tone for the culture. The Chief People Officer has also been fantastic to work with pragmatic, empathetic, and clearly invested in creating a positive employee experience. Change always brings a bit of uncertainty, but with this kind of leadership, I’m genuinely looking forward to seeing how we grow together and what we can achieve as part of Emerald.

Cons

-As with any acquisition, there’s still some change and adjustment happening, processes and systems are evolving. -Communication rhythms are still settling as both teams integrate.

Pros

There are very few pros. one of them is "summer fridays" where they let everyone go a few hours early every Friday. I guess this makes up for the lack of annual bonuses. also they do an ACE conference every year where they fly everyone out to meet each other. it's not that amazing considering the amount of money they spend on it.

Cons

Cons...where to begin. The company I worked for was acquired by Emerald. We went from having: 1. top tier health insurance (my medication was $10 a month 2. regular in person employee reviews with potential for raises 3. regular communication between departments 4. annual bonuses To: 1. expensive health insurance with high deductible (my medication shot up to $40 a month) 2. impersonal reviews done through a website with merit increases (these 1% to 2% increases in pay, not even matching inflation) 3. higher ups who were impossible to get ahold of and typically did not communicate well at all 4. no bonuses...oh wait, that's why we got summer fridays. On top of this, when asked about the justification for layoffs, we were told "every company is laying people off."

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Emerald has grown through acquisition and that brought with it a sustained period of change which we know has impacted some of our people more than others. Our CEO, Hervé, and his leadership team have spent time refining Emerald's vision and we're working towards communicating the direction of travel with clarity.

Pros

Opportunity to connect with many people since it's a large corporation

Cons

Aggressive restructuring and those in power lack skills to manage teams. Disorganized management, late on commissions for sales teams, massive layoffs without warning, etc. You are not taken care of here and you will constantly reminded that you can be replaced immediately. When the CEO was asked what was happening with the layoffs he replied that "people will keep getting fired and that's just how business goes..." which is true, but you don't need to say that to your employees who work for you. There is no team culture or emphasis on collaboration.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts so candidly. We take onboard what you've said. We're sorry to read that your experience has been less than positive. We take the wellbeing of our people very seriously and our CEO and People and Culture team have spent the last 3 years defining the business strategy and vision. Whilst Emerald went through a period of transformation, we've now come out the other side. These changes have made it easier for our people to see how their roles align with this vision.
