Talented peers overshadowed by political internal leadership issues - Senior Designer 3 Minds Digital Employee Review

Pros

- Peers and individual contributors were talented and genuinely supportive - Possible to build useful skills if you stay heads-down and lean on colleagues rather than leadership

Cons

- "Family culture" in practice means loyalty outranks competence - Several leaders got there through connections, not ability, and it showed - Politics drive everything; who you know beats what you deliver - Capable people are treated as threats, so talent leaves - Leadership undermines those they feel insecure around, protects their inner circle - No accountability at the top; department heads often traveling and unreachable - When present, leadership manages appearances over solving real problems

Pros

The Energy: When you first join, the vibe is electric. It’s a young, energetic team of genuinely creative people. Learning Curve: If you are an intern or just starting your career, you will learn a lot. It’s a solid playground for junior talent. After Hours: Outside of the office "drama," the people are actually fun to hang out with.

Cons

The "Iron Ceiling": There are three people at the top of the design team who have been there since the dawn of time. They’ve created a bit of a fortress; internal politics are heavy, and they make it nearly impossible for any outside senior talent to move into leadership positions. Insecurity & Criticism: The leadership is quite sensitive. If you offer constructive criticism about how the company runs, it’s taken personally. There’s a "we can do no wrong" attitude that makes growth difficult. Ghost HOD: The Head of Department is basically a myth. He’s rarely around to support the team and seems more invested in his outside projects than the people actually doing the work. The "Notice Period" Cold Shoulder: This was the most disappointing part. You can give years of your life to this place, but the moment you resign, the energy shifts. They treat you like an outsider immediately and make your exit feel incredibly bitter. It’s a shame to work so hard only to leave with a bad taste in your mouth.

Pros

Great Senior Team Even greater projects Very supportive colleagues Culture first approach, management removed some long term toxic people recently who made us juniors life hell by being over confident and very bossy. Appreciate that.

Cons

Could be better with managing exits.
