Pros
I loved most of the kids there and a lot of my coworkers. They truly made some days feel like all the stress is worth it.
Cons
The admin (or "Senior Team" as they call themselves) are AWFUL!!! They are nice to your face, but talk big smack about you behind your back. They constantly increase your workload without consulting you, and if you raise concerns about it, you're basically told to suck it up and deal with it. At one point, I was basically working nonstop for 7.5 hours out of the 8 I was scheduled. I barely had time to eat my lunch some days because they kept increasing my workload. I'll never forget how they treated my one coworker. She would come up with new ideas and activities for the kids and advocate for what she thought was best for them. What did that get her? Bullying from the admin. I can't help but to conclude it was because they were 1) jealous they didn't think of it or 2) didn't like that what they were doing was being "challenged." They were always understaffed when I was there, leading to a lot of burnout among staff. That is probably my biggest annoyance: the lack of care for their employees. We are given (essentially) one PTO day a month for the 11 months we work a year. Did you get COVID? Did a kid give you a concussion? Better think twice about taking a day off, because it'll come out of your PTO. Awful awful AWFUL place to work!!! They're only in it for the social media clout. go to a school that actually cares about the kids!
