Pros

This is a Department of Labor training program for Seniors age 55 & older, who are low income, and are unemployed. It is very helpful by giving people training opportunities to re-enter the workforce and getting unsubsidized employment. By doing this, people acquire new skills building confidence which allows a person to go out & get that new job.

Cons

Only part time and hours fluctuate, going sometimes as low as 10 hours per week. Because it is a training program, there are no benefits and unemployment insurance is unavailable.

Pros

I was able to take on multiple responsibilities, like research and volunteer engagement, with consideration of my time and workload from school.

Cons

At times, I felt like my work wasn’t as important or could’ve been done by my supervisors, especially when projects were close to completion, they would be altered but I understand it was for time efficiency.
