      Pros

      It's a good place to get expierence. It's not the best, but it's certainly not the worst. Big company, big benefits...

      Cons

      The pay isn't great, and the hours are long. But it is what it is... AMR is the standard in the industr, BUT it does give you the ability to move around the country and stay with the same employer

      Career growth opportunities, supportive coworkers, opportunities to learn and develop, ability to advance if you stay engaged and work hard

      Cons

      Healthcare/EMS can be demanding, long hours at times, stressful days, and workload can be heavy depending on staffing and operations. These things aren’t specific to AMR, that’s our industry in general.

      Pros

      AMR San Mateo is making huge strides in changing the Old Boy culture of EMS. The operation is collaborative, cares for its employees, and acts with accountability.

      Cons

      Although it's much better than it was, AMR San Mateo still deals with staffing issues, primarily for medics, and forced mandation is still in play.
