      I was told starting off at a private ambulance is better than going straight to the fire department

      Cons

      Low pay, poor and inconsistent schedules. I’m supposed to be a full time employee and they cut my hours then hired 20 new people and now it’s no hours to pick up.

      Pros

      My direct supervisor and my support staff at my station were wonderful.

      Cons

      However it's clear that the family owning the business does not want to pay more than they have to which is the bare minimum which is not only insulting but very disappointing especially with the hard work that EMT is put in everyday
