Pros

The Documentation organisation (known over the years by various titles, including Technical Writing and User Assistance) appeared to offer one of the strongest work-life balance environments within the company. While the team's contribution to day-to-day product delivery was not always apparent, they consistently demonstrated exceptional skill in internal presentations, webinars, and organizational communications. Attending these sessions could leave one with the distinct impression that the documentation organization was responsible for conceiving, defining, and driving the development of major product features, while engineering teams merely assisted with implementation. Curiously, despite working closely with documentation personnel across multiple products, I was never asked to provide performance or talent review feedback for any team member who worked with the teams I am responsible for. Their work also appeared to have limited visibility within standard work tracking systems, making it difficult to assess contributions through conventional project metrics. Overall, my time with the company was rewarding and educational. It provided meaningful opportunities for professional growth, product ownership, and collaboration. At the same time, it offered a valuable firsthand perspective on corporate bureaucracy, organizational dynamics, and the remarkable ability of large enterprises to continue functioning despite their complexities and inefficiencies.

Cons

Over time, I observed that several support functions, particularly HR, HR Services, and Finance, increasingly relied on reporting managers to handle responsibilities that traditionally fell within their own space. Interactions with some members of these teams occasionally reflected inconsistent levels of responsiveness, resulting in avoidable administrative challenges. One area where this became particularly evident was the retirement process. In some cases, retirement communications and formalities were delayed, overlooked, or insufficiently communicated, requiring retiring employees to initiate and navigate the process themselves with limited guidance. Unfortunately, employees with long and distinguished service often appeared to leave with minimal formal recognition beyond administrative documentation. The organisation frequently emphasised openness and candid feedback. However, the removal of anonymous participation option from all-hands meetings and similar forums reduced employees' ability to raise sensitive questions comfortably, which diminished perceptions of transparency. Another recurring challenge involved periodic changes to payroll and insurance vendors. While such transitions are sometimes necessary, employees often experienced difficulties adapting to new systems that appeared insufficiently tested at scale, requiring significant follow-up to resolve issues, many a times taking few months to get the apps operational. I also observed what appeared to be preferential treatment afforded to certain administrative staff within common facilities such as the cafeteria, where levels of personalized service seemed noticeably different from those available to the broader employee population. The company had several local leaders who demonstrated exceptional commitment to visibility, networking, and participation in organizational events. At times, professional interactions appeared highly selective, and Bangalore often seemed to receive less attention than other locations in areas such as facilities, policy considerations, leadership visits, and employee engagement activities. Most of the support organisations like HR, HR Services, Finance etc does not have physical presence in Bangalore location.

Pros

Great company culture, people stay here for years, which says a lot about how the company treats its employees (and how employees treat customers). The CEO and execs are clearly passionate about sustainability and helping the industrial sector improve its operations and engineering processes with industrial intelligence. Great products for major industries (power, city/country infrastructure, consumer products...). This is overall a great company to work for.

Cons

No red flags from my end.
