Pros

Office location. Office hours. Office hours.

Cons

1. they blatantly lied about the compensation package/commissions. From day one I was losing $1000 a week towards my commissions with no ramp up time allowed. Being that 90% of what they do is direct hire so if I had made 5 placements in my first week - and it being 30 days out before the company gets paid on them - - well you do the math! 2. They have their veterans all on the old commission plan - that is why each of those has given a good review on here. They COO (Not Sharon) is BFF's with the account managers and has even known one of them since greade school whom she would have slumber parties with. I new BDM satrted and was supposed to get any new IT business. Well, sicne this new client and their roles we sop close to the money they gave it to her BFF and assigned the role tho the owners brother. NICE. 3. New employees get the left-over roles. Favoritism running wild so anyone who goes there has an up-hill journey and will never be successful. 3. Piggy- backing on the abive - favoritism - it doesn't really matter if they cange the commission structure - you will never get anywhere unless you are one of the original clicks. 4. The account managers all run full desks except the new ones that have come in so will work on their own close to the money roles and will not submit any candidate qualified or not if they aren't HER candidates. 5. I could go on and on, but do not work here. I lasted a whole wopping 2 months. When I saw there was not meat on the bone that could justify that kind of commission plan which was really making the company money on the recruiters backs...

AZ Tech Finders Response

Thanks for comments. We are sorry that you did not feel that Tech Finders was the right place for you. Being in the valley for over nineteen years and placing over 5000 wonderful people in local jobs, we pride ourselves on finding the right internal team. More times than not, we get it right. Occasionally, we don't get it right. The right person is someone that strives for greatness, is a team player, and successfully places great people with our clients. We do have a very tenured team who are exceptional at what they do. Half of our 15 staff team as been with us at least 5 years! Do those individuals have well established accounts and a candidate pipeline? Of course! With a population of 6.93 million people, in Arizona alone, is there plenty of opportunity for new team members? Absolutely! Do we have a very fair, well communicated process of how new accounts are distributed? Yes! Our compensation plan actually is one of the richest in the valley! We clearly outline how compensation is calculated and have a written document that outlines commissions. We have utilized only two different plans in over 10 years. One is a base salary where commissions are given immediately. The other plan that we tried (and are not utilizing anymore) was a base salary and then a very high commission starting at 33% or personal production with the commissions starting as soon as the commission was more than what had already been given out in salary. **If minimum metrics are hit, staff bring home right around 90K with each plan. To clarify using the example that this reviewer used: For the sake of this example used above, let's say we hired a new recruiter named Elle Smith. Elle makes 5 direct hire placements in her first week. Let's say the average placement amount was $13,000. Half of that goes to Elle as her personal production (the other half goes to the Account Manager). So, $13,000 divided by 2 equals $6500.00. On this plan, she would make in commission 33% of $6500.00, which would equate to $2145.00 per placement. If she made 5 placements in the week, she would make $10,725! Not a bad week for a new recruiter, eh? A couple other things to clarify because they were not correct in this review: We only have one account manager that works both sides of the desk. Our recruiters do have specialized silos of expertise so they can quickly help their candidates find the right opportunities. They can submit candidates for any role as we know that everyone has a different reach within their networks. We wish you the best in your next role!

Pros

So far, it has been one of the best decisions I have made in my career. I took the leap and left a six-figure, senior-level role in the Investment Banking sector. A major component for me choosing Arizona Tech Finders was the leadership and the vision that the Founder has conveyed to me. My interview process was relatively short (three weeks consisting of a few interviews with the leadership team, the COO, and the Founder). The culture component has been extremely different. It is based on collaboration, self- accountability, and an authentic "feel" to the organization. To be fair, I don't think the culture is for everybody. This place does not have any office politics, it is extremely fast-paced, and a positive energy is a MUST. It's a believe or leave philosophy. Development has been instrumental. So far, I have had access to all the necessary tools and resources to succeed. The open-door policy with Senior leadership has been very helpful. I have also been afforded the opportunity to work one-on-one with both Development Officers and this has assisted to decrease my learning curve. Overall the infrastructure and environment have been supportive, transparent, and the opportunities for development and success are nearly endless.

Cons

I will follow-up every year to assess but as of now this place has the infrastructure, process(es), and leadership to achieve many great things. This place isn't for you if you are looking to sit at on office and collect a check. Expect to work, be agile, and listen. Also, check your ego at the door.
