Pros
- Abnormal has some incredible people on our team with a wide range of experience. From previous CTOs at other companies, to seasoned engineering ICs, to some of the best sales folks in cybersecurity, working with and being a part of an A+ team has helped me understand what it takes to build a worldclass product. - Growth opportunities and empowerment. As one of the more junior engineers on the team, it's been a privilege to work with a team that's incredibly smart, humble and relentlessly customer-centric. The culture at Abnormal encourages everyone to be a leader, and to be a better leader than they are today. - Experienced leadership. Senior leadership is comprised of serial entrepreneurs / folks who have seen other startups from early stage all the way through IPO. Very confident in their ability to execute and steer the company in the right direction. - Worldclass product. Abnormal is trying to solve a tough problem that no one else has been able to -- detecting and stopping the top 1% of email attacks and the #1 cause of financial loss in cybercrime. The efficacy of our product is a combination of worldclass ML modeling, infrastructure and product design. If anyone wants to learn how to build a worldclass product, Abnormal is one of the best places you can do that. - Covid. Company's response to covid has been great, putting people first and making sure that we are doing the right things to ensure that people are safe and feel safe in a covid environment. This has allowed us to work well even in a challenging pandemic.
Cons
- Very fast-paced. Things move really quickly so everyone is always wearing many hats as we try to grow individually to match the company's growth. Things are always changing (eng systems, company workflows and processes, etc). Every 6 months is like being at a different company. Definitely not ideal for everyone because things can get overwhelming or stressful.
