Pros

If you’re just starting out in the independent counselor world or need to side money as a admissions officer/school counselor this could be a fine gig.

Cons

Admissions professionals, do not work here or for them. In sum, they recruit top college counselors/former admissions officers and use your status/reputation to get them clients. Mind you, the people who are management/own the company have not been beyond the Assistant Director level or did graduate admissions (which is significantly different than undergraduate admissions). Meaning they have been out of college admissions/school counseling for a very long so they have no idea what they are doing or what it actually takes to get students admitted to the best colleges/univeristies - I can’t speak for the college counselors they hire but I would imagine they are all fine and lovely professionals who do know what they are doing. With that being said,if, for whatever reason, you’re not “selling” (meaning your name/former school isn’t bringing them clients) then they will not supply you with students because they have none to give - note the contract stipulatations does not say that the money they promised you is contingent on clients basically buying you as a counselor but it in fact is. Also, don’t let their job description rouse into applying… when they say they are hiring full-time and part-time counselors they are specifically referring to full/time/part time caseloads, not actual full-time or part-time employment. If you are applying to work as a counselor they will hire you specifically as contract worker but treat you like you are a part-time employee, WHICH IS ILLEGAL. There are differences between full-time/part-time employment and contracting. You’ll need to google the differences but in sum they try to control everything you do while you’re contracting for them, which is a “no, no” when you are a contract working and against the law. Note, the reviews from here are likely from the very few full-time employees.
