Pros
Very easy going work environment. They provide lunch each Tuesday and the offices are bright, modern, and set up to be collaborative. Coffee is provided as are snacks and drinks. There are a lot of bright people and most of the teams are kind and welcoming.
Cons
Executive leadership has one way thinking and unwilling to try new methods. Their executive team lacks diversity and out of the box thinking - which is lead by their CEO who has a dictatorial viewpoint. There are not clearly defined goals from the top down so direction setting is hard. Directions change from week to week which makes change feel driven based on emotional reactions rather than proactive planning. Being small, there is no room for growth. The company has a façade of caring for the employee with "free lunches" but is unwilling to have a real conversation about pay raises, bonuses, or problem solving in general. The company lacks any type of diversity and inclusion strategy. Bullying is tolerated from all levels including management. HR has openly stated there are employees who cannot be terminated due to their relationship with the owner/founder. Actions such as throwing chairs, harassing employees, and not completing work/passing off work are accepted with no repercussions. The culture does not facilitate an open door policy and I personally felt victimized by my direct supervisor but did not feel comfortable continuing to report actions as no actions were actually taken to correct the managers actions. For a tech company they are very old-school thinking not offering hybrid or remote opportunities. Policies put in place by HR are no enforced equally across the organization. If you're part of the good ole boys club you'll do well here.
