Pros

Admirable mission working with amazing users in the NHS, good office location, mostly fantastic colleagues

Cons

Accurx used to be a great place to work but the CEO, who has under performed for some time now, has turned it into a toxic workplace. He listens to no-one, has no idea what he’s doing and his only purpose seems to be to go around causing problems and bullying people. His latest achievement is to hire someone into the exec team who has exceptionally problematic views and should be nowhere near a role that senior in a public sector facing org. Any one with any sense or who is good is starting to leave and I can see why.

Thanks for taking the time to write feedback. We wouldn’t be where we are today as a business if it wasn’t for our amazing users so we agree with you here! We’re sorry to read that you no longer feel that Accurx is a great place to work. We acknowledge that the business has gone through some big changes recently but we believe these changes are necessary to drive us forward to achieve our mission. Your accusations of bullying and intentional disruption from our CEO are serious and something we completely disagree with. We stand by our CEO as the right person to lead us forward, he’s incredibly mission driven and cares hugely about solving poor communication within healthcare. Leading a VC backed startup is hard and there will undoubtedly have been times where Senior Leadership could have communicated things better or been quicker in their approach but we truly believe none of this was intentional. In regards to the recent exec hire you mention, we believe we made the right decision to hire this person. The decision was not made lightly after some of the concerns flagged by employees. Leadership have openly spoken to the company about the thorough additional work they completed to look into the raised matters. This investigation happened with neutral external parties and it was agreed by all parties that we should continue to hire our COO. Accurx Team

Pros

The tech makes a genuine, tangible, positive impact for people working in the NHS. It's built to solve user problems, not tick the buyer's boxes (and it's the user love that then 'sells' the product). We have close contact with our users so we get to see that impact first-hand. Good balance between start-up and established company - we have the scale, revenue and brand of an established business but there are still big, difficult, new problems to solve. Office is modern and informal, lunch is provided every day. Colleagues are smart, motivated and come from a broad range of backgrounds and previous experiences.

Cons

There has been a lot of change as the company navigates how to scale from a start up to a mature business, and this isn't always managed or communicated in the best way.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. It’s great that you were able to see the positive impact we are having on the NHS, and our users, first hand. We’re very proud of our mission, our people and what we’re building together. We’re happy that you think the team is great! We agree that everyone here at Accurx is incredibly smart and motivated by the mission. We believe that a workplace benefits from having people from different backgrounds, especially given our mission and our users. As you’ve mentioned, we are in a period of scaling, and this includes our ways of working. We understand that we need to continue to iterate and tweak how we do things and learn from experience. We are committed to doing this - thanks again for taking the time to submit feedback!
