Pros
The staff at Ackroo is full of diverse, creative, fun and passionate people who care about doing their best work and helping to elevate and celebrate the success of their peers. Great benefits package and the Hamilton office is bright and new and has a lot of space available for both focused and collaborative work. The HR team also works to make remote staff feel included. The company really cares about supporting its employees, both personally and professionally and there is a culture of transparency where all ideas and opinions are encouraged.
Cons
As a smaller company still working through some residuals of the "startup" process, employees tend to wear many hats, or on the odd occasion, you might be asked to chip in and work a bit longer to push things over the finish line. If you're not the most flexible in your work-life balance (i.e. Family duties, etc.) they are still extremely supportive. Since M&A is a key component of the growth strategy here, priorities have a tendency to shift and evolve. We are still working on managing change better, as it impacts staff and internal processes, but with more staff into HR as welll as the handling of special projects, it should hopefully become a part of business that runs much smoother in the near future.
