Pros

It's a job (if they're actually hiring and not fishing for free interview project/test work.)

Cons

I've interviewed with them twice in the last 7 years. The first time they were just fishing for what I was designing at a different company that also licenses to Target. They barely even looked at my materials or asked me about my experience as a Designer. I felt super uncomfortable and didn't share any info about what my current company was designing for the current seasons. The second time I interviewed was years later. They ghosted in the middle of the unpaid design test after I turned in most of my materials. Should've known better than to interview again but I thought that maybe they had changed in the years that had passed. And my other friends, that are fashion designers, warned me to stay away from this place.

Pros

The company attracts talented people and offers opportunities to constantly tackle unexpected challenges. The work can be engaging and fast-paced for those who thrive in highly demanding environments.

Cons

Leadership communication can at times come across as dismissive or lacking empathy. Employees with differing perspectives may not always feel heard or valued, which can make it difficult to raise concerns or have productive disagreements. The culture places a heavy emphasis on performance and output, often at the expense of work-life balance and employee well-being. Expectations can feel unclear, and support during challenging periods may be limited. Based on conversations within the industry and my own experience, the company appears to face ongoing challenges with attracting and retaining talent. This may be worth discussing during the interview process.
