Pros
- The local HR team was helpful even though their upper management wasn't. - The original company which I was part of, acquired by Advanced Energy, was having really great work culture and personal life balance until it merged to Advanced Energy, Milpitas location. - As a work visa employee, the local HR team and legal team was great and helpful.
Cons
- In my 3 years of work at Advanced Energy, our engineering manager was changed more than 5 times. Lot of miscommunications happened between our engineering managers and their upper management, led them to either retire or quit or getting terminated, and surprisingly HR did not take any steps, even though observing a pattern here. - Due to change in our engineering managers rapidly, there is no time to focus on personal development and growth, as each manager had their own point of views in developing the team. - Our team has delivered 2 prototypes to the clients regardless of whatever their demands are. Still no promotions or recognitions. - Favoritism in terms of promotion, while employees older than 3 years were getting nothing, but a 6 months old newbie gets a promotion, even though having less experience compared to the position he/she got. - Due to work visa limitations, they agreed me to transfer to another company location, which is great, but their interview process was alarming, as they took seven round of interviews for practically same work position, and it was just an internal transfer! Then, they did not give any feedback until I initiated responses several times, also gave an automatic reply that I was not selected. - When they can't even write a reason why I was not selected/transferred for practically same position as company employee, you should not expect anything as an outsiders.
