Pros
-Glamorous outlook but deeply rooted problems -Good exposure to a wide variety of high profile MNCs and SMEs -Free leftover food for staff after external collaborator meetings and events -High budget to procure expensive and fancy equipment -Small handful of motivated staff made working in this RI bearable
Cons
Very obvious problem of favoritism and bias practiced by top management of the RI. Dedicated and hardworking staffs are not valued while boot-lickers and "rah-rah" employees get full attention from the C-suite. A classic case is a specific staff being granted sponsorship for overseas studies and still promoted while being away from the RI. Finger pointing and witch hunting after something goes wrong is a norm in this RI. Instead of coming together to solve the problem holistically, staff are thrown under the bus and left to fend for themselves. It is also a habit of the management to overload staff with multiple secondary duties against their will, on top of their heavy primary job scope. Extremely toxic corporate staff are the main reason why technical staff rather do all their work in the workshop even though they are given a comfortable office seat.
