Pros
- The hierarchical structure is flat: you don't have a boss, but have accountability to the rest of your team / colleagues. Therefore, there's a great deal of freedom, there's no manager to stress you, instead the expectation is for each member to self-guide (through initiative, self-learning, conversations with customers, etc.).
- High standards for code / work
- The existence of a mentor to help the mentee evolve
- Total financial, workflow, decision transparency
- Democratic decision-making process
- Income is determined objectively, based on certain variables
Cons
The used technologies are not very popular locally/nationally (e.g. Ruby).
